Cienfuegos Casa Particulares

We stayed at our third different BnB in Cienfuegos. The proprietor was married to a nuerosurgeon. Two of her sons were doctors too. But to make any money, they had to operate a BnB for the tourists. The proprietor was very gracious and hospitable. Keith and I liked Cienfuegos the best of all the Cuban cities. For me, it was because it was relatively small, clean, and colonial.  The city got started when the French wanted to relocate there after Haiti declared independence. The Spaniards liked the idea of having more white people in Cuba and supported the French setting up home in Cienfuegos. The town would later gain favor as it became the hangout for rich sugarcane farmers when sugarcane came into vogue.
